Thank you for taking the time to read this. Scott and Stephanie Kyle are two active duty Soldiers with a three- year- old son, Gavin. The first year of Gavin’s life was a struggle for the new family. Scott was serving as the Readiness NCO for the HHD, 53RD Troop Command at Camp Smith Training Center, in Peekskill, NY for the first year of Gavin’s life. Stephanie cared for their new baby during the week, while Scott could only come home on weekends. While Stephanie was caring for their new child, she was also still serving as an Active Duty Soldier in Latham, NY.
MSG Scott Kyle served our country in Afghanistan in 2008. MSG Scott Kyle is a Bronze Star, and Purple Heart, recipient. SGT Stephanie Kyle is a part of the Active Duty Program. SGT Stephanie Kyle served as the Readiness, Admin, Training, and Supply NCO for the DET 1-224 SNS for eight years. SGT Stephanie Kyle, and MSG Scott Kyle are still serving today in JFHQ.
On September 5th, Stephanie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at the age of only 30. Due to the aggressiveness of the tumor found, Stephanie needs to undergo chemo-therapy treatment with a high probability of affecting whether she can ever have children again.
Stephanie and Scott want more children more than anything. Stephanie will need to undergo Fertility Preservation before she starts chemo-therapy, so she will have a possibility of having more children. Unfortunately, the couple’s insurance does not cover any of the procedure, or medication.
We, their Soldiers, dearly love this couple and appreciate all they have sacrificed for our nation. We are parents, sisters, brothers, friends and understand the struggle of raising children with just one parent serving, let alone both!
We are pleading that the community assists us in raising the funds to secure and freeze her healthy eggs, to be used once chemo-therapy has completed.
The total amount required is $14, 650 for egg freezing process and medication. Once Stephanie’s body is healed and cancer free.
Please help this military family find hope in this frightening time.
