Dear family and friends, as many of you know my father and stepmother's home burned to the ground during the Hermits Peak/ Calf Canyon fire. As did most of our beautiful Las Tusas Forest.
Brian and Nell lost everything they have built for the last 25 years (50 + years on the ranch for Brian). As many of you know Brian is an excellent craftsman, mechanic, handyman, builder and all around fix it man. The home he and Nell made together, was built from the ground up. Anyone who has ever met Nell knows that she has a heart of gold. She would give you the shirt of her back, and has welcomed many into her home in their time of need.
Once the immediate danger of the fire had passed, they were able to move into a small RV in Santa Rosa and have been there since. It has been an unusually cold winter, and we would like to get them into something more permanent and safe as they are both disabled and elderly. Our goal is to bring them back home to Las Tusas Ranch.
As we wait and hope for the government to release the funds owed to the fire victims, we find ourselves in a precarious position.
In order to move their RV back to the old homesite that burned, a new electric pole must be installed in order for the power company to hook up to. Septic and water hookups will need to be repaired. The Debris of their home was removed and they are left with nothing.
We are calling out to all our family and friends, if you can please donate to help Brian and Nell get home to Las Tusas Ranch.
Brian and Nell did not want us to ask for any help, but we love them so much and want them home safe and sound.
P.S If anyone would like to make a loan to them, they are happy to pay it back when the funding comes through.
