I've been battling stage 4 Lymphoma for a year now (since October, 2017). At this time, finances are tight and we could use some help from you. We are driving 120 miles three times a week for care at Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
The prognosis is pretty good, but will be a rough road. I'm halfway through my second set of chemo treatments. This set is 4 infusions of cutting edge immunotherapy meds that attack only the cancer cells. Once that is complete, I should be in remission (pending the results of a PET scan and probably a bone marrow biopsy.) I will then enter the MAYO clinic for anywhere between 17 and 30 days for STEM Cell treatments. This treatment will effectively reset my immune system and kill any residual cancer cells in my body.
In the meantime, I'm dealing with a lymph node biopsy that went south on us and created a wound out of which they drained 3 pints of fluid. I'm on a wound vac that is doing a great job at healing it, but it is a slow process, as I don't have very many white blood cells at this time.
