*Update : (September 2026) My brother Maurice passed away in 2018, and almost immediately, we started the Moe4Life Scholarship in his memory. Since then, we’ve awarded over 30 scholarships and more than $15,000 to students pursuing their education.

This semester, we received our most applications ever, 40 students, and right now we have funding to award five scholarships. There are so many deserving students in this group, and I would love for us to say yes to a few more.

If you’re able to give, any amount helps us pour into another student.

* Update: (Jan 2020) Moe4Life has been busy helping young minority men further their education. So far the funds that you donated has helped 13 students across the United States in the last 4 semesters. Each of these students received a $500.00 Scholarship.

Many people have asked us how they can help or asked what can they do because they want to honor and celebrate Maurice. We want to honor Maurice by creating the Maurice Dante Murphy Scholarship.

Maurice Dante Murphy passed away on April 12, 2018, after being in an accident. Maurice was known for his million-watt smile. At 24, he had recently graduated from Washtenaw Community College, and had plans to conquer the world of business as well as mechanics. Maurice loved his family and friends and was passionate about academics as well. In his memory, his family is raising funds for a scholarship for male who will be attending a university .

The scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who exemplify Maurice's love family, continuing their education along with giving back to their community.

The intent is to provide financial assistance for post-secondary education. Eligibility criteria will include at least 20 hours of community service, GPA 2.0, pursuing a post-secondary degree with plans. We will also require a 1-page paper on why being an active part of your community is important.

Four $500 scholarships will be awarded in 2018. Pending the outcome of contributions to the scholarship fund more may be offered. Hopefully this will lead to additional awards in 2019, 2020 and beyond. Scholarship selection is not based on need but need may be taken into consideration.

Maurice's life will continue though the love of his family and giving people the opportunity to follow their dreams as he was doing.

Thank you for your kind words and your support.
