HELP I’m Drowning!
Spende geschützt
My name is Dino Constantinou and this is a favor I am asking to all my friends who understand the difficulties I have been facing for the last several years being on disability and unable to perform the very physical work I used to do in the hospitality industry. But it is also an appeal to those who might only know me peripherally, or even complete strangers willing to help in my time of misfortune. To those who know me personally and with whom I grew up I believe my character speaks for itself.
So much of my strength came from you, my friends, with all our shared experiences and adventures. But for most of my life I have been more comfortable in giving to others – whether that be some tangible asset or just a supportive shoulder to lean on. So I think you understand how difficult my now asking for charity is.
Due to the severe Neuropathy in my feet, and bouts of anxiety and depression, I have been unable to work and am receiving disability. While my parents were alive, these minimal payments were adequate for survival as my brother Ari and I lived with them. My father passed away in 2019, leaving my mother, brother, and I in a much more precarious situation. My mother was ill, and my brother Ari also disabled. I had to care for both as best I could. Last July we also lost our mother. I loved her deeply and I am devastated. The delicate financial balance our family lived under has been upended. Since my mother passed away my late father’s United Nations Pension was Nullified and I am not able to survive and pay bills on the meager amount received from disability.
I have had to terminate the internet due to insufficient funds and I am desperate to keep my cellphone service. To make matters worse my car was damaged while parked during a hit and run incident. I am now stranded in Commack and unable to even pay the $1,000 insurance deductible for repairs. And if all this isn’t bad enough, I was just hospitalized for vertigo which is brought on by fluctuating blood pressure and bleeding from the right side of my brain.
While my situation is extremely difficult there is hope. My brother and I will receive compensation through the sale of our house, though here too there are hurdles to overcome. First, we need to wait for the Probate before we can legally put up the house for sale. I am told this can be a minimum of six months or more. Complicating matters is a lean on the house from the bank and the lack of a Will, which means it will take longer to settle and sell.
The money raised through this GoFundMe campaign will allow my brother and I to survive long enough for the probate process to complete, when we will be able to sell the house and relocate to more affordable accommodations.
I thank all of those in advance who can look into their hearts and help.
