Team Frank (Glioblastoma Fighter)
Hi, my name is Bailey, Franks daughter.. Frank had traveled for work and was working near Charlotte, North Carolina when i received a phone call that no daughter would ever want to receive. My dad was found.. confused, couldn’t talk, couldn’t stand.. my nurse brain went off that something was wrong neurologically. He was immediately taken to Atrium Health in Charlotte and a CT and MRI scan identified he had a 5.5cm mass on his frontal lobe of his brain. Dad had weakness on his left side and trouble with vision. I took the next flight down along and my dad was in for an emergency craniotomy the next day due to the severity.
The neurosurgeon was able to remove some, but not a lot and certainly not all of his tumor on his brain. The pathology came back as a high grade glioma.... Glioblastoma (GBM). Cancer. This cancer is terminal. This cancer has no cure. This cancer spreads very quick and is irreversible. My dad could not have done anything to stop it.
He will go to his first medical oncologist appointment on Monday and his first radiation oncologist appointment Wednesday and we will see what they believe we can do, if anything
He is currently home in Lexington, he is obviously out of work, and bills have started to stack up beyond measure.
I made this GoFundMe specifically for needs that him and his girlfriend that he lives with for their most important needs.. food.. gas money.. copays for visits and medications.. I have never been the person to ask for anything in life, but i know that my dad needs all the help he can get and i owe it to him to see if i can help him get it and beyond.
I have his address, if you would like to send him cards for encouragement or RC Colas and Moonpies i know that would make his day.
He is still confused at times and honestly just not my normal dad anymore... but i love him. And i know you all do too. And he needs us until the end....
Thank you. ❤️
