Hello everyone. Elysia here, Aaron Hartzell's sister.

 

To know my brother, Aaron, is to love his kind, thoughtful, creative presence and the appreciation for life that permeates his brilliant photography. And yet, sadly, life recently handed Aaron a severe and significant health crisis: Advanced pancreatic cancer involving surrounding organs.

 

Aaron is working with his care team to create a cutting-edge treatment plan that includes chemotherapy and, hopefully, a clinical trial. But as anyone who has had a brush with cancer knows, all this will cost a lot of money. And unfortunately, a good deal of the expense won't be covered by Aaron's insurance.

 

Which is why we're asking for community support.

 

In her treatise on the transformational power of love, Bell Hooks writes, "rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion."

 

We believe every act of communion, even sharing this notice with others, and every financial contribution (no matter how small) is an act of love that can make a difference for Aaron.
