This is the Official Page for Rebuilding Col. Toms!

In the early morning hours of December 14th, 2016 one of Lake Martins popular establishments came under fire. At 3:55 AM a call was placed into 911 reporting the fire in Colonel Toms Tavern. Thanks to the help and fast work of the Paces Point Volunteer Fire Department the building wasn’t destroyed. The internal walls are blackened and charred while the exterior walls show stress and smoke. With the help of the Alabama State Fire Marshall and Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department an arson investigation is underway. Unfortunately, the owners only had a liability insurance policy on the building this will not cover any of the damages. For the past thirty-two years Colonel Toms, has been a Lake Martin icon. Known for live music and entertainment through the week year-round. Whether you have come to watch your favorite band, sing karaoke on the back deck, or just to stop in and have a drink and conversation. We all have a memory from Col. Toms. The interior was a reminder of honkytonks past. Pictures posted along the walls of memories shared with friends. Football and NASCAR schedules from years past. Even promotional posters and banners of Ms. Lou’s favorite bands/artists who have dawned the stage to perform. By far a very nostalgic place indeed not just a bar.
Currently there are benefits being organized and GoFundMe’s up to help raise money and awareness. The costs to rebuild this institution is still unknown. But rebuild they shall and to become better than ever.

Benefit Shows are being planned and dates will be posted as soon as available. We are thankful that our neighbors The World-Famous Rodeo Club will be the venue for one of the benefits. The massive outreach from bands across the state has been awesome. Please stay tuned for more details.
Please keep the families of the employees in your thoughts and prayers at this critical time.
The DJ Equipment was a total lost and that was the poperty of Jeremi "DJ Dirt" and Christina Mann
