Hi everyone, I’m Ryan. Thanks for taking some time to look at my family’s need. The reason I set this up is to raise funds to bring my sister Jenny and her husband Matt home to Wisconsin to see family. Jenny is considered terminal with bone, liver, and breast cancer. Jenny is a previous breast cancer survivor from 2013. Unfortunately in July 2015 she was re-diagnosed with cancer and told she was terminal. It really came back with a vengeance for lack of a subtler word. She has been taking chemo in pill form to get her by up to this point. Last week she was put on IV chemo because the pills were becoming ineffective.
Jenny Lives in Southern California with her husband Matt. Matt is a retired Marine who served from 1995 to 1999. He was deployed for Operation Desert Fox in 1998. Matt is himself disabled with physical problems and PTSD due to his service. Matt and Jenny have really been a wonderful support system for each other. Each have their daily challenges but hold each other up so well.
My, parents and other siblings have tried to visit with Matt and Jenny as much as possible out in California. Unfortunately we don’t have the funds to send along all the children in our family. Jenny really wishes to get back to Wisconsin one last time to see her young niece and nephew and the rest of her family. The funds raised here will help pay for travel, lodging, and food for whatever period of time the funds will allow. We are in need of any funds raised as soon as possible. Like any serious medical issue, anything can happen. Jenny is steadily becoming worse, and we really want to get her home before she is fully bedridden and cannot travel at all.
My nephew Henry has really taken it quite hard. He’s been really sweet regularly sending Jenny cards and little things he’s made. For Jenny to see Henry and the rest of her family before she can no longer travel would mean the world to her. Day to day life is definitely tough, but she wants so much to make the push to travel home one more time to see everyone.
For me, I feel like this can’t be happening. The whole family feels quite helpless being so far away. We wish we could be there to help out day to day, but it’s just not possible. The last time I was able to visit her, Jenny told me she wanted to come home once more. She asked if there was any way I could help her. I knew there were fund raising sites out there and that’s when I found gofundme. I know there are good people out there who can help. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Any help is greatly appreciated!
