My father, Francisco Bastidas, was diagnosed in May of 2015 with a blood disease called Myelodysplastic: Refractory Cytopenia.
My father lives in Venezuela and unfortunately my country is in a very deep financial crisis, which has affected the healthcare system and has impacted people’s ability to get the medication they need.
In order to avoid stopping my father’s treatment we need to buy the drugs outside Venezuela. The Cancer Association of Colombia sells this drug cheaper than in the United States. In the US this drug costs around $4,800.00 US$, and in Colombia it costs around $850.00 US$.
As you can see the Cancer treatment is very expensive and we do not have the resources at this time to help my father, so that is why we are asking for your support through this website.

Mi amado padre Francisco Bastidas, fue diagnosticado el pasado mes de Mayo del 2015 con una enfermedad en la sangre, llamado Sx Mielodisplastico: Citopenia Refractaria.
Mi padre vive en Venezuela y desafortunadamente mi país está atravesando una profunda crisis, la cual ha afectado todo el sistema de salud, por lo que los medicamentos no están llegando con regularidad. Para evitar parar el tratamiento en varias ocasiones hemos tenido que comprar los medicamentos en los Estados Unidos y en Colombia.
Los medicamentos para el tratamiento de esta enfermedad son muy costosos y ya no contamos con los recursos para continuar comprando los medicamentos fuera de Venezuela, es por ello que acudimos al buen corazón de ustedes, a través de este sitio web para recabar los fondos necesarios para poder seguir con el tratamiento de mi padre.
Cualquier ayuda por más pequeña que esta sea será bienvenida.
