Milo’s Leg Amputation
Donation protected
My boy, Milo, has been by my side through some of the hardest times in my life. He's been my protecter for the last 5 years. Right now, he needs help that I can’t give alone.
What Happened
Milo recently started limping and we went to an orthopedic specialist that said they are pretty confident it’s bone cancer due to a previously unknown lesion in his hip socket. The vet says he needs his back leg amputated to be comfortable. Without it, he’ll be in constant pain for the last part of his life. He is still an active and happy boy, but is masking his severe pain.
The estimate for the surgery alone (not including aftercare) is $7,000 which is far more than I can afford on my own right now. I’ve applied for financing, looked into every possible assistance program, and am doing everything I can, but it’s just not enough.
Why This Matters
Milo has brought so much joy not just to me, but to everyone who meets him (even if he likes to give kisses with a little nibble). He’s goofy, snuggly, and has a way of comforting people just by being near. He doesn’t understand what’s happening to him right now, but just knows it hurts.
I’m asking for help not just for myself, but for him because he deserves a chance to live without pain, to play again, and to keep being his wonderful self.
