Hello everyone,
I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this, but life has thrown me some serious challenges, and I am currently facing homelessness. I’m reaching out in hopes of raising funds for a security deposit on an apartment, a used car, and a month or two of rent to help me get back on my feet as well to support daily living expenses until I am gainfully employed. My ultimate goal is to secure a permanent job once I have stable housing, but unfortunately, government assistance is not an option for me.
I want to be clear—I have no addictions, and I am not someone who sits around doing nothing. I am highly motivated to work and regain financial stability, and I am only asking for a little help to get there.
For many years, I was gainfully employed and had my own apartment. However, in 2024, my situation changed dramatically when my roommate moved out and I lost my full-time job due to the closure of a major company’s local hub. With nowhere to go, I was forced to spend what little savings I had on hotel stays costing $80–$100 per night, which quickly drained my finances.
Since December 2024, I have been homeless in East Brunswick, NJ, without a vehicle to get around. My car broke down that same month, leaving me with no transportation for job opportunities or even part-time food delivery work that could have helped me stay afloat. I have been actively applying for full-time jobs—walking into businesses and submitting applications wherever possible—but being homeless and relying on temporary hotel stays has made it even more challenging.
To make matters worse, I have Parkinson’s disease. Due to the financial strain of paying for nightly housing, I have been unable to afford my medication, leading to setbacks and even falls. Despite this, I am determined to work and maintain independence for as long as possible—I am not seeking disability benefits, as I am fully capable of working right now. One of my greatest comforts during this time has been my four-year-old dog, Bubbles. She is my family—providing protection, therapy, and unconditional love during these difficult times. Unfortunately, shelters will not take me in because I refuse to abandon her. Thanks to the kindness of local residents, I have been able to stay in a hotel temporarily. However, on Monday, I will be back on the street, as the hotel’s policies prevent me from staying longer due to tenant rights regulations. With nowhere else to go, I am in urgent need of support.
I know times are tough for many people, and asking for help is not easy. But I also know that communities come together to lift each other up in times of need. Even if you can’t donate, simply sharing my story would mean the world to me.
I promise that once I regain stability, I will pay it forward and help others facing homelessness. Too many people are struggling, and until you experience it firsthand, it’s impossible to understand just how difficult it is.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your compassion, kindness, and support—no matter how big or small—mean more than words can express.
With deep gratitude,
