Kyle was diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma.  The treatment for this is aggressive and the road to recovery will no doubt have obstacles.  

Kyle will be treated in Madison within the next 2-4 weeks.  A large portion of his tongue and lymph nodes will be removed to ensure the cancer has not spread to other areas of his body.  His tongue will then be rebuilt using a portion of his quadricep (leg muscle).  Kyle will be placed on a feeding tube and have a tracheotomy until his mouth has had time to heal.  Doctors estimate this could be 4-5 weeks in Madison before he is allowed to go home.

Once home, there will be rounds of chemotherapy , follow up visits with the specialists, and numerous medical bills to care for.
