Dear friends,

 

All of us who knew Hemant even a bit, knew him to be one of a kind: a gem of a person, a rock of a friend, and one who was always willing to give selflessly of his time for a good cause.

 

His untimely demise, brought on by a massive cardiac arrest, has been an unthinkable tragedy for all of us, but that much more for his young family. The pain of loss is soon going to be coupled with an economic crisis due to crushing medical bills pertaining to his ICU stay.

 

Some of us have experienced this onslaught of medical expenditure. To ease their burden, we have started this fund drive. This was a very difficult decision for the family—as Hemant was a self-reliant person.
