Missions trip

Hey friends!

I’m Briar Lando, and this July, I have the amazing opportunity to go on a missions trip to Guyana, South America! I seriously cannot wait not only to serve the community there but also to grow so much deeper in my faith.

Why Am I Going on This Missions Trip?

Last summer, I got to serve at a Young Life camp for a couple of weeks, and it was literally life changing. I saw 274 middle school kids and young moms give their lives to Christ, and it made me realize just how powerful God is. That experience also taught me so much about myself and who He is.

When I got home, I couldn’t shake the feeling that God was calling me to do more. After praying about it and talking to my pastor, I knew He was leading me to go on a missions trip. So here I am stepping out in faith and trusting Him completely. The Gospel has completely changed my life, and all I want is for others to experience the same love and grace that I do every single day!

One of my favorite verses that just really encouraged me is

Joshua 1:9:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

What We’ll Be Doing in Guyana

While we’re there, we’ll be:

✨ Helping plant a new church in a village

✨ Restoring an old church building

✨ Prayer walking and doing outreach in schools

✨ Sharing the love of Jesus with the people we meet

How This Trip Will Grow Me

I know this trip is going to push me out of my comfort zone and help me grow in my faith in ways I can’t even imagine. I also can’t wait to see how other people experience and worship God in their culture—it’s going to be so eye-opening!
