Sept 22nd 2020, Lucas Merriman and, I ( Sabrina Merriman) experienced one of the darkest hours of our lives. The house that we had moved into this past February caught fire and destroyed our home, cars, and all of our possessions.
Although we are devastated by the loss of our home, we have been absolutely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from not only our friends and family, but also from our community.
We are also incredibly grateful to the volunteer fire fighters who came out not only once, but twice in one night. They worked so hard and were so considerate of our loss! I can not express how thankful we are for all of them putting their lives on the line to save our home!
First fire was mainly contained to the garage. The firewall did its job amazingly. After all the firefighters went home, at about 3:30 AM the fire restarted. A hot spot was missed and, this is the fire that did the big damage. This fire was about triple the size and, this is the one that spread into our home and, did the big amount of damage.
While we all made it out safely (our entire zoo 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 reptiles) we are still in for an uphill battle. We lost everything our home, cars, clothes, food, everything! If any of you would be willing to help us I have listed the donation details below. I know this is such a hard time for everyone and completely understand if you are unable to help, but anything right now would really help us get back on our feet!
