A little bit about my story, my Dad, and our goal for this year:

2018: I had this vision to host all my friends for a big camp weekend and within a month we had a camp, a plan, and 34 RSVPs. Everyone showed up and made my camper dreams come true. That weekend, five days after my birthday, my dad died. I heard the news, towel in hand as I was about to step out onto the docks of "Camp Court" to look up at the starry night sky. My world shifted upside down. The camp spirit, love and support of my community was what got me through.

2019: We showed up bigger & better than before. 50+ registrations for Camp Court. Everyone still paid a $50 Registration Fee. Yellow Team won the Color Wars and we hoisted the Yellow Team bandana on the flagpole. It was the sweetest reminder that my Dad was still there. [For those that don't know - yellow reminds me of him!]

2020: The pandemic meant we had to reimagine and repurpose our camp spirit. The goal was to match 2019 in spirit (and numbers!) to send one grieving kid to camp. 50 campers. Fifty ($50) Registration Fees. $2,500. One fully-funded week of Experience Camps for one grieving kid. We did it. We did it in under 48 hours! In fact, we ended up fundraising over $5,000 to send TWO kids to camp.

FOR 2021:
- I turn 30th on September 24.
- September 29th marks 3 years since my Dad died
- AND MY DAD LOVED NOTHING MORE THAN HIS THREE KIDS. Really. His love for us three kids is the primary reason I want to send three grieving kids to camp: to pay his love forward.

SO: we are fundraising to collectively send 3 grieving kids to camp (that's $7,500!) and we are bringing the camp magic back to life for our 3rd annual Camp Court!

Will you show up?

----------------------------------------------
I would love it if you would:

1. Consider coming to Camp Court (registration is only $50 - because we believe the more the merrier!)
2. Donate to my Experience Camps Fundraiser to help send three grieving kids to camp.

I hope you'll join me in supporting Experience Camps in this unprecedented year+ filled with grief and loss for so many.

Love,
Court

More information about Experience Camps:

Experience Camps are nationally recognized summer camps for grieving children, ages 9-17, who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or caregiver. We give grieving children experiences that will change their lives forever. With nearly 5 million children in the US currently grieving the loss of a close family member, the need is enormous.

Experience Camps operates summer camp programs in 10 locations nationwide, and provides ongoing opportunities throughout the year for support, connection and community. We reframe the experience of grief and empower our campers to develop invaluable coping skills that enable them to move forward with their lives.

Since 2009, Experience Camps has transformed the lives of thousands of children by bringing light to the profound darkness of grief. We offer a community where kids can laugh, cry, play, create, honor the memory of the person who died or forget the grief that weighs them down. It's a home away from home. And just about everyone will tell you... "It's the best week of the year."
