Please help Micah, Tyler, Carter, & David raise enough money to go to the 2024 VEX Robotics WORLD Championship in Dallas, Texas.
The Alpha Centauri VEX Robotics team from the BJA Middle School is one of only five Greenville middle school teams selected for world-level competition at the VEX Robotics World Championship* in Dallas, Texas, April 28-30, 2024. They will compete against students from every US state and from more than 50 other countries (30,000 in total) in what can be considered the “OLYMPICS” of robotics competition!
The Alpha Centauri Team consists of 4 students (two veterans to robotics with 2 years of experience, and two rookies in their first year).
- Throughout the season they have been growing as a team, working diligently on improving their robot design, trying different tournament strategies, and impressing the judges through personal interviews and their sportsmanship attitude at tournaments.
- Midway through the season they were awarded the Excellence Award for being in the top 30% in every category of judging and showing overall excellence at a tournament –– this was only the 3rd time a BJA Robotics Team has taken home this award in the 7 year history of the school’s program.
- Alpha Centauri proudly took home the 1st place trophy at one of the local tournaments in Clinton, SC.
- They are currently ranked 6th place out of all the VEX Robotics Middle School teams across the whole state of South Carolina.
Alpha Centauri is seeking sponsors and donors to help defray team registration fees / transportation to Dallas, TX / lodging costs and more associated with the upcoming WORLD Tournament.
Our goal is $7,000.

*The VEX Robotics World Championship is the largest robotics competition in the world. Sponsors of the tournament include leaders in the robotics field itself and in industries which use robotics in dangerous situations, in highly detailed and specialized procedures, and in warehousing / delivery operations. Northrop Grumman Foundation, Tesla, NASA, and Amazon represent just a few of the corporations sponsoring the events at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.
