Celebration of Life for Sai Vu

Update 05-10-2024 (P.M.): It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Sai. She was surrounded by her loving husband, child, and family members. She peacefully took her last breath shortly before Noon. She is survived by her husband, Theodore Vu, and their 2 years-old son, Cid Vu.

Update 11-03-2023 (A.M.): Sai remains hospitalized. Her Creatinine levels are down today which appears that her kidney functions are improving so we're hoping that no dialysis will be needed today. The doctors may consider chemotherapy in the hospital so they can continue to monitor her kidneys in case that's the culprit. Otherwise, they will work on her kidneys getting back to normal and then start chemotherapy again.

Update 10-25-2023 (A.M.): Sai has been admitted back into the hospital for the past couple of days now. Her creatinine level is high so we are not sure if the medicine given to her to kill the bacteria from the E. coli infection damaged her kidneys. The doctors are suggesting a blood transfusion since her hemoglobin is so low. Please keep Sai in your thoughts and prayers!

Update 10-02-2023 (P.M.): Sai was discharged from the hospital on 09-29-2023. Colitis is under control, E. coli is being managed and she will be on her way to continue chemotherapy in a week or so. They will head down to Rochester, MN to the Mayo Clinic for additional medical support starting on 10-17-2023.

Update 09-26-2023 (P.M.): E. coli has spread into her blood through the inflamed colon linings. The doctors are giving her antibodies to fight it. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Any words of encouragement to both Sai and Theodore will be greatly appreciated!

Update 09-26-2023 (A.M.): Sai was admitted back into the hospital on 09-23-2023. The doctors confirmed that she has colitis. They are still trying to figure out how she got it, but there is bacteria/infection in her bloodstream. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Any words of encouragement to both Sai and Theodore will be greatly appreciated!

Sai is our daughter, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, niece, and friend. She has endured a lot of pain these past couple of months but most recently, in August of 2023 when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer, which means it has now spread to her lungs and liver.

She married her spouse, Theodore Vu in June of 2014 in a cultural ceremony and the two got legally married shortly afterwards. They had their first and only child in September of 2021. Sai recently started chemotherapy in September of 2023 and will soon have to make numerous trips down to Rochester, MN to the Mayo Clinic for additional medical support.

Their two-income household has now turned into one as Sai can no longer work and she must focus on getting better. Without the ability to work, all of her medical bills and expenses are piling up.
