Tony's Recovery after Apt Fire
Donation protected
On April 15th, around 6 a.m., first responders were called to the fire at a 3-story building in the 9600 block of S. Ewing Ave. in the city's East Side neighborhood. More than 100 emergency crews were called to the scene, and the flames had spread through all six units and the back of the structure had collapsed.

The building was totaled and the cause of both the fire and the explosion are under investigation.
Tony Carruthers was critically injured in this fire with over 20 percent of his body having third degree burn. Tony had just moved into this aparment complex just the night before the fire. He has lost everything in the fire. Tony is currently in a coma on oxygen & a feeding tube, and undergoing major surgeries to help him breathe on his own, as well as multiple skin graft surgeries. Tony has lost more than just material things in this fire, and has a long road to recovery. We thank God he is still here with us!!! We are asking if anyone reading this would please keep him in your prayers every night. Not just for his recovery, but also his peace of mind when he wakes up and realizes what has happened to him. We ask if you could also please donate for medical expenses, therapy, counseling, housing, clothes, shoes, socks, toiletries, if you even have a cell phone to donate to him for when he awakes, anything at all to replace the things that he's lost for his road to recovery.
