Fighting for Gracie - Marburg Multiple Sclerosis

Donation protected
Gracie is a fighter. At just 22 years old, she’s endured more than most of us could imagine. Last year, her vibrant life was interrupted by Marburg Multiple Sclerosis. It stole her mobility, her voice, her sight, and so much more. Despite months in the hospital and countless treatments, Gracie’s condition has left her completely dependent on her family.

Marburg Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is one of the rarest and most aggressive forms of multiple sclerosis, often described as a fulminant variant. Unlike typical MS, which progresses more slowly and may be managed with treatment, Marburg MS is characterized by rapid onset, severe neurological decline, and a high mortality rate.

Its rarity makes it profoundly understudied, with even MS specialists often going their entire careers without encountering a single case. The lack of research and established treatment protocols leaves patients and their families navigating uncharted and heartbreaking territory.

But Gracie is still here, fighting every day. Her family has dedicated themselves to her care, refusing to give up on her recovery. Recent treatments offer a small but powerful glimmer of hope—a reminder that Gracie’s story isn’t over.

Gracie’s mom, her legal caretaker, is the recipient of all funds raised through this campaign. Every dollar will go toward covering Gracie’s mounting medical bills, in-home care, and ongoing treatment. Your support can provide the resources Gracie needs and give her family the strength to continue this fight.

About the Organizer

My name is Andrea Alvarado, and I’m the organizer and social media manager for Frankie's Fight & Fighting for Gracie. My little brother, Frankie, was diagnosed with Marburg MS—a condition so rare and aggressive that it nearly claimed his life. Through the power of community and crowdfunding, we were able to raise the funds necessary to cover the immense cost of his air transfer, which played a crucial role in his survival. Today, he is thriving in his recovery thanks to our amazing friends, family, and donors.

We met Gracie’s family through our social media channels and immediately connected over the shared challenges of battling this devastating disease. We’ve experienced firsthand the financial and emotional toll this diagnosis takes, and we’re committed to helping Gracie’s family in any way we can.

Your support means the world—not just to Gracie’s family but to our shared mission of raising awareness for Marburg MS and giving hope to those fighting this battle.

Together, we can make a difference.
