My name is Jeffrey Stanley. I am a mid-thirties father of three from the central valley in California and I'm tired of pretending I'm okay.

I'm drowning. Drowning in debt.

I am only one of 340 million people in the United States of Despair, and I've been drowning in debt for almost fifteen years. I was promised a great job and a great future at the outset, with a promising career ahead of me after a swift promotion. I even came up with a ten year plan.

None of that panned out. Instead my wife and I struggled with layoff after layoff, minimum wage after minimum wage, all the while fate and capitalism drowned us in overwhelming bills and charges that we had no hope to overcome. We were evicted four times, the most recent one being a legal disaster that screwed us out of thousands of owed repayments, deposits and the like. I've been glossed over no less than three times for life changing positions that were absolute slam dunks based on my resumé, and it was just back to the minimum wage grind.

And despite all of that, we finally have a home, my kids are happy, and we got a couple of fantastic jobs as drivers for special needs kids, an unfound calling that is already coming with a huge projected wage increase as of August.

But we will never see that increase if we can't escape the debt that still tries to swallows us. We are fortunate enough to not be facing down homelessness, but only by a hair's breadth.

We've been fighting to build our credit so we can get a debt consolidation loan, but no bank will take a risk on us. We're millennials, blessed with a kid early, so of course our history isn't great. My own grandfather even called me a crook to my face, saying that it's no wonder I'm struggling. Yet if we could just get ahead of this debt, everything would begin to improve.

My family isn't wealthy. Those that are won't help. So I have to ask for charity.

Every little dollar helps. Those of you that gave for the house charity before were already so generous, so I hate to ask again, but I truly have no other option.

Please. My middlest daughter needs braces I can't afford. We need new glasses since CalViva doesn't cover vision for adults. My teeth are crumbling in my mouth, drawing blood every other day. My eldest has her birthday soon, and its one of the most important ones for her, yet I can't guarantee the water will be on, much less promise that she have a party.

I'm just one in 340 Million.
But I'm begging you.

Please help me save my family.
