I live in a small mountain village in central Spain. We're literally at the end of the line. The place to go if you want to abandon a cat. So we have a considerable population of homeless cats. Community cats, we call them.

I volunteer for a small local non-profit. I manage four colonies, a total of 32 cats. Volunteers feed the cats and tend to their health and well-being. We also apply the TNR protocol for population control: Trap-Neuter-Return

The town hall pays for the neutering and microchipping of the cats. We also have some other small helps, but most of the expenses are out-of-pocket.
