My name is Kelly. I am a survivor. I have been through so much in the past few years. A brief history of how I got to this moment. In April of 2015, I had to have an emergency hysterectomy. My uterus had several fibroids, and I was hemorrhaging to death. I had never had children yet, so I was heartbroken. I didn't want the surgery. At the same time, I was in a domestic violence situation with my then partner. I moved far away from him, determined to start my life. I healed from the surgery and the set back he had sent me to. I became determined to provide and take one step at a time for myself. And I did! Then in January 2016, I had developed a 7cm by 12cm cyst on one of my remaining ovaries. I was rushed into surgery by an oncologist, because, he believed I had ovarian cancer. He had to cut my belly from my belly button to my bikini line. Up and down. This took a long time to heal, but I was determined. And kept the home I earned for myself. I had to start completely over from leaving my partner, I walked to work every single day. Bc I didn't have a vehicle. I eventually got a great job, that I love(my current job) I work at a Nursing and Rehab facility. I am the director of laundry and housekeeping. While, I make sure the residents environment is clean, bc my motto is "this is their home" and just like our homes, we will take care as such. I have gotten to know every single resident there. And I love them all. They are so special to me. I sit with them, hold their hands on bad days and am honored to be a part of their lives. Back to now, I recently was told I had hernias all along the incision in January. Well, on November 20, my surgeon went in to do a robotic mesh repair. He didn't realize the damage my stomach had endured. I had 5 hernias. The worse being by my pelvic area. The surgeon stated, that my muscles had become "shredded" from the trauma of the previous 2 surgeries. On Friday, November 25, I had to return to the ER in debilitating pain. Upon a CT scan, they had found that the hernia in my pelvic region had torn through the mesh and my bladder was now involved. My surgeon personally called me, and apologized several times saying Kelly, we have to do another operation only now we have to cut, and I am still not sure how to attach it yet and close the hole. Then my new car decided to die on me, I took it to the shop and it's battery corrosion and cable corrosion. Everything I have saved is gone from my deductible, I still owe $5,200,  of surgery and the cost to repair my car. I have returned to work last week, but I can barely walk and have had to go home early. My bills are suffering. I don't want to lose everything I have fought to have for myself. This next surgery, I will have no choice, I won't be able to return to work for awhile. And I don't qualify for FMLA yet. Please help in any way you can, prayers, resources, donations. All of it is a blessing beyond anything. God Bless you. The surgery to correct the mesh failure is scheduled for tomorrow, December 7th. I am very nervous, but hopeful. Again, I thank everyone for everything. My current balance of my deductible is 5,000. I was told I won't be able to return to work for 6-8 weeks. And again, I don't qualify for paid leave. I had to go to ICU for several days. My kidneys began to fail. This surgery was so scary, I had to be in there for 13 days. I am home trying to heal. I can't move much. I am stressing bc I know my bill has gotten huge. I haven't been able to get hours at hour bc I can't even walk for long periods of time. I know it's the holidays,  but anything will help me at this time. I have rent, utilities, car, insurance, and a huge bill coming. Again, if you can help, please help me.
