Help Us Give Kenny The Goodbye He Deserves

On June 9th, 2025, the father of my children, Kenny, passed away from stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to his brain. It happened faster than we could prepare for, and heartbreakingly, he died without a funeral plan or life insurance in place.

We’re now left trying to honour his life and give him the dignity he deserves… while scrambling to cover the costs of something no one planned for.

Due to misinformation from multiple sources about applying for public assistance or a government-funded funeral, I am now fully liable for all funeral expenses despite the fact we'd been separated for over two years when he passed away. That responsibility falls on me... but more than that, it affects our sons, Ryan and Sean, directly. They’ve lost their dad... and now we’re left trying to carry the emotional and financial weight of that loss at the same time.

Kenny had been struggling financially for years, and although he wasn’t able to contribute child support after our separation, we always tried to keep things steady for the boys. Now, with his passing, the financial weight that he couldn’t carry in life has fallen fully onto us in death.

We’re not asking for anything lavish. We just want to give Kenny a simple, dignified farewell... one where our boys can stand proud, say goodbye, and begin to grieve without shame or confusion.
