Help Robyn Kick Cancer To The Curb

On November 16th, my aunt (Robyn Morris) was unexpectedly found to have colon cancer. She went in for emergency surgery to remove the mass and approximately a foot of her colon on November 17th. After close to 5 hours of surgery, the doctor did report he was able to get all of the cancerous tumor (approximately the size of a golf ball); however, the results of the lymph nodes were pending. She received her results on November 28th. Of the 69 lymph nodes tested, 4 came back with cancer and chemotherapy is in her future. She will have a PET Scan on December 19th and a port will be put in during the same week. She cannot start chemo until January 16th as her oncologist wants her to be 8 weeks post-surgery. Her treatment will consist of 48 hours of chemo with a pump and then 10 days off and this pattern will be repeated for 12 treatments.
This account is being established to help aid in the financial burden this has brought and will continue to bring to the family. Robyn had started a new job approximately one month prior to her diagnosis and did not have any sick leave and did not qualify for short term disability so she has been without her income since 11/16/16. Her husband’s job does not provide paid time off and he was out for a 2 weeks to be a support for his wife. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and used to directly offset the financial burden this family is now facing. Thank you so much!
