Our names are Tomeika and Joel. We are from Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We are trying to make up for the cash we were saving, that got burned in the fire. We lost $6,000 plus all our possessions. The money was being primarily saved to make a down payment on a house and some land, but was also in case of emergencies. We are a family of 6 and lost our home and everything we own in the Gatlinburg fire. One of our vehicles was lost also. We escaped with just about only the clothes on our backs. We had clothes for the kids for the next several years in the house also, so they have almost no clothes as well. We have a 7 month old baby, a 3 year old, a 6 year old, a 7 year old and a dog. We now have nowhere to live and almost nothing. The three older children are deaf, and the deaf school is allowing them to stay there for now, but we want to have a home for them to come back to soon. The money will be used to get us temporary housing, clothes, toys, appliances, and to save for buying another home later. Any amount would help us get our family under one roof again.
