Help Mya beat cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cola and I am fundraising to help my friend Mya who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer.
On April 9th, things became very scary when Mya woke in the middle of the night unable to breathe. She had been fighting Pneumonia with several rounds of antibiotics and getting little relief. Her husband, Tuan rushed her to the nearest Emergency Room where she received a breathing treatment and CAT scan. A tumor was found in Mya’s lung and she was immediately transferred to North Cypress Medical Center. The doctors performed a biopsy on the tumor and came back with a lung cancer diagnosis.
Mya was admitted to MD Anderson on April 18th. A series of tests were performed to determine the type and stage of the cancer. This will help the Oncologist determine the best treatment plan for Mya. Chemotherapy is set to start in early May.
Mya’s story
In 1999, Mya left Vietnam and immigrated to the United States in search of a better life. She left behind her parents and little brother. Several years later, she met and married her loving husband Tuan. Together they have two children, Jessica and Zachary.
After years of filing paperwork to get her parents here, it finally happened! In 2007, Mya reunited with her parents in the States. She took them in like any loving daughter would and supported them as they made the adjustment to life here. Her mother helps care for the children while Mya and Tuan work to support their growing family.
During Covid, Mya’s only sibling and brother unexpectedly became ill and passed away. He left behind a wife and two young daughters who Mya is now financially supporting. She did not hesitate to help because that’s what you do for your family!
Those who know Mya know that she has a caring heart and is the epitome of good health. Besides being a devoted wife and mother to her two children, staying strong and fit is her top priority. She works out, bikes, runs marathons, and does kick boxing to keep her body strong. We are hoping the years of training will help her through these trying times.
Your generosity will allow Mya’s family to have financial peace of mind as she goes through cancer treatments in the coming months. Your contribution will go towards medical bills for the treatment and long recovery. Thank you for your prayers, love and support! There is no gift too small and all is appreciated. We are hopeful that Mya will kick cancer to the curb and make a full recovery.
