FAMILY IN NEED

Hi, my name is Joe. I am raising funds for Chad and Cheryl Pillow. Chad and Cheryl have fallen on hard times. Likely more than we even know. Chad confides in me as a confidant, friend, and family member. He has struggled through the ongoing loss of his legs. And it seems each day gets worse. Now, as he tries to heal, his wife Cheryl has gone through yet another emergency surgery. Three times she has had to get one shoulder replaced in 9 months. And another 15 surgeries on top of that all within the last 5 years. Between the two of them, they are at a total of 24 important surgeries in the last 5 years and potentially more in the future.

Now, Chad and Cheryl are in a very tough spot. With Chad being forced into long term disability and Cheryl not being able to work for over a year, they are not able to get the proper care they need. Chad does his best to take care of Cheryl while she heals, but he is destroying what is left of his damaged back in the process. So they try to take care of each other while their health continues to slip. They try to do each others chores. They try to clean around the house. Their main source of transportation is broken down, as Chad tries and tries to fix things and fail because his body gives out. Chad has a motorized wheelchair but no ramp or hitch to attach it to his truck for small errands. A trip to a store wipes them both out. And it hinders any healing.

After demanding to help, they humbly admitted to me what they need the most:

Chore/Helper

-hire someone to stay with them a couple of hours a week to do small household chores.

Cleaning company

-they pride themselves in keeping a decently clean home. With the stress of surgery and taking care of each other, the house cleaning has had to halt. They need a cleaning company to come in once or twice a month.

Car repair

-with Chad trying to work on cars, he makes his illness worse. And after doing all he could to their van, it is in need of fuel pump and filter. Chad keeps planning to do it himself but even he knows how much of a daunting task it truly is

Hitch/ramp

-Chad has a decent running older truck. He has built countless "ramps" to transport his mobility scooter around for small errands. But he needs a hidden hitch and a Hitch Mounted Wheelchair Scooter Mobility Carrier. Then he can at least get around for the small errands he hates asking others to do.

These are good people who have fallen on tough times. They have helped multiple people and never said a word. And they are the last to seek charity. That's why they need it the most.

This shouldn't last more than a few months, although Chad is stirring around about Cheryl needing a possible shoulder replacement on the right side next.

They didn't ask for such bad luck and everytime they take one step forward, they are pushed two steps back. Let's step in as family and friends to give them a ray of sunshine when all they see is rain. God bless
