For more updates a Facebook page -Daxton strong has been made. We want to thank everyone for all the love, support, messages, for your generous donations, concerns for Daxton and our family. A little update that Daxton is doing the best he can. Doesn’t have an appetite so has been continuing feeds through a NG tube. We’re 2 months down but still over 2 years to go. We’re still currently doing chemo 4-5 days a week travelling almost an hour one way to McMaster. It’s a long road but we are so grateful for the amazing continued support.

Hello everyone, my name is Vanessa and I’m a close friend of the family. I’m writing this in hopes to help the McTavish family during this difficult time. Their son Daxton is a bright, energetic, funny, kindhearted little boy who loves playing basketball, loves school, playing games and most of all being with his family.

On Saturday, April 29th, 2023 the McTavish family received the devastating news that their 5-year-old son was diagnosed with Leukemia and was admitted to McMaster Hospital. He has been diagnosed with an aggressive type called T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia which is rare for children his age. Treatment takes about 2.5 years in total with the first 8 months being very intensive, meaning the hospital will be their second home. Sometimes treatments are inpatient and some outpatient which means traveling to McMaster multiple times a week. One parent will stay with Daxton at the hospital and the other is at home with their other children.

We are hoping to support the family by creating this GoFundMe page. It will help relieve the amount of stress on the family as they travel back and forth, assist with unexpected costs as Daxton’s mom had to take a leave from work and Daxton’s dad had to cut back hours. This will be a long road ahead, it takes a village let’s show Daxton the village be hide him. Thank you for your time and support.
