Friends of NASA Powerlifting Support Group

We were asked by this support group to post this Fund Raiser... Thanks everyone for contributing-

"For decades, NASA Powerlifting has traveled across the U.S., hosting meets in a multitude of venues. Tens of thousands of lifters have graced the platform under NASA’s banner, from weekend hobbyists to world-record-holding champions. Many lifters have forged life-long relationships from their involvement in NASA, viewing each other more as a family than mere friends. Rich Peters has dedicated 47 years of his life to supporting drug-free lifters. Loyalty and consistency are two of NASA’s core values. From National meets with 100’s of lifters, to local meets with a mere 10, the truck is always there. The bar is promptly loaded. The spotters are on guard. When a meet gets placed on the schedule, it stays. Championship belts, jackets, sculptured trophies, and even cash prizes have been presented en masse over the years. Bottom line: NASA works tirelessly, giving back to its lifters.

After 3 years of limited meets and rising costs, we thought it would be nice to show our appreciation by giving back to NASA, hence this Friends of NASA Powerlifting Fundraiser. Make no mistake: NASA isn’t going away. That said, travel has gotten a lot more expensive these past few years, confining them to a smaller location menu. With a good amount of help, the guys could afford to try some new locations and visit areas where loyal lifters have been hungry for a local meet.

All proceeds from this Fundraiser will go directly to NASA Powerlifting for use in their business operations. While we don’t have a specific number in mind, raising the majority of the cost to finance more expensive equipment should secure a long future with a variety of meet formats and locations. No amount is too small, for anyone interested in helping. If anything, we’re sure NASA would appreciate some of their long-time friends giving back to them, as they’ve done for so many over the years.
