In May 2022 I was diagnosed with NETS in my pancreas . I had never heard of Neuroendcrine tumours before that day . My world turned upside that Thursday afternoon I was alone in The Blackrock Clinic thinking about what was going to happen i was just heart broken . We had Ciarans graduation that evening from secondary school , we had the Leaving Cert and Junior Cert in our house starting the following week …

It was a busy summer between The Bons Secours and St Vincent’s . I was introduced to The Nets patient group by John Fallon who called to our home to talk to me I had a lot of questions and he was very informative , he like myself was diagnosed with Nets a few years before my diagnosis . Fast forward September 16 th under the wonderful care of The Liver Transplant team and Dr Donal Maguire I had my pancreas , spleen and all the lymph nodes removed. With the help and support from my family and friends I have healed nicely and I am doing very well . I returned to work before Christmas , I couldn’t wait to get back to my normal. I attend St Vincent’s for regular checkups . I made a promise to myself that I would give something back to the wonderful group I meet along the way this is for you NETS
