Murrin's New Wheels

Hi there,

Our fundraising is for a bright, caring and bubbly young woman called Murrin.

Murrin has come a long way in her life, from not expecting to make it through her first night - various surgeries from brain surgery to the year-long recovery of spinal realignment - she has endeavoured to do all of this with her heartwarming smile front and centre for the world to see.

Ten years ago we had fundraised to get her a bespoke-sized wheelchair as the NHS (as good as they are, as she wouldn't be here without them) wanted to put her into a bulky clunky electric wheelchair. Murrin broke down and withdrew as she believed no one saw her anymore, just the chair.

After her spinal operation, her body was a very different shape so we spent a year fundraising to get that chair for her. Whilst this was great for her, she kept growing and the time has come to get her a new better fitted chair.

Advised buy the lovely man who came out to do all the measurements, the chair she is in now is not suitable any more, her ankles, feet, knees and hips are all in the wrong positions and will if unchanged start to in fact hurt her as the posture and stability are not as it should be.

The quote we recieved from RGK is £6500.00 (every penny raised will go towards the chair.)

I would love to just say 'YES' to making the chair - but the bank, he say no.

So we return to the fundraising and we thought this might help.

We will apply to anything that can help, I will have stalls at local markets to sell handmade ceramics, jewellery and some arts and crafts creations. I'm sure we will have some bake sales, table sales and anything else we can think of in the meantime, but if anyone can help us, whether in the form of a donation (ever more appreciated as we know times are hard right now) or with sharing our cause as far and wide as we can get it, we thank you.
