IT TAKES A VILLAGE

Hi, my name is Jaylen Aubry, I’m 18 years old and will be graduating this June from Hawthorne High School Class of 2023, with a 4.2 GPA. My academic journey hasn’t been easy but with the help of my loved ones I will prevail.

I am blessed to announce that I will be attending DICKINSON COLLEGE this Fall on a Full Academic Scholarship! I am forever grateful to the Posse Foundation for blessing me with this opportunity!

The only thing is, I will need to cover the cost for my room and board. This is where I will need the help and support of my family and friends.. MY VILLAGE!

I am often asked what is my deepest fear. My answer always would change yet, there was always a constant thing. I feared I wasn’t the person people expected me to be. I feared that I would let negativity navigate my life. Now I walk with Faith, Love and Optimism that I will change the world. This goal still stands, as I know if I don’t change the world I will atleast spark the mind that will. I wouldn’t be the man I am today if it wasn’t for God, my family, my friends, my teachers, coaches, mentors and everyone who has played a part in my life.

I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life and can’t wait to see what more God has in store for me!
