Rolo the Bernedoodle

Hi Everyone, this Anthony (better know as Rolo’s dad)

I'm starting this go-fund me, as my 1-year-old Bernedoodle, Rolo, was recently diagnosed with renal dysplasia. This devastating condition means that his kidneys are underdeveloped and not functioning properly. When the vets shared the news, they gave us a grim prognosis, saying there was a “high likelihood that Rolo wouldn't make it out of the hospital”, and at best, he “might have only a month left”. However, Rolo had other plans and decided to fight this!

Incredibly, during a recent check-in with the vet, they used the words "quite frankly unbelievable" to describe Rolo's progress! As someone who isn't easily swayed by miracles, it's hard to put into words how amazed and grateful I am. From a pup who wasn't expected to survive, he's now back to his old self—energetic, goofy, and even a little bit of a troublemaker (which I've grown to appreciate!). He's running around, devouring anything in sight, demanding attention, and embodying the puppy spirit once again. This is nothing short of a blessing/miracle from God!

However, last night, while playing, Rolo managed to swallow his squeaky toy whole. After a frantic rush to the hospital and attempts to induce vomiting, the vet has determined that he urgently needs surgery.

The medical expenses for Rolo's kidney issues, blood transfusion, IV treatments, and medication have already exceeded $15,000. Unfortunately, this surgery will further add to the financial burden, with an estimated cost of $8,000, not including the post-surgery medication he'll need (which prior to this was close to $1,000 a month).
