Punch Out Games Relocation Fund

Hello Lehigh Valley and Beyond Gamers!

Our names are Babs & Mik. We are the co-owners of Punch Out Games. Our board game cafe is dedicated to sharing our love of board games with the community while providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space.

Since we opened, we have hosted fun game events, Magic the Gathering, and themed game nights. We have been lucky to meet with folks that love what our mission is and have even become friends with a lot of our gamers.

As some of you may know, recent circumstances have forced us to decide to close our current location. We put so much time, money, and energy into this space and we're very sad about this ultimatum.

We simply can't continue to operate from this location. Water damage, ceiling damage, and more have cost us over $34,000 including food that we lost on December 25, 2022, when the ceiling leaked brown water all over our pantry.

The ceiling has caused us issues throughout this entire time. Contractors have advised the landlord the rooftop needs to be fixed and nothing was done. We've dealt with water and tons of buckets around.

This experience, at this location, has cost us money, mental health problems, and debt. In order to move on and finally focus on our business, we need to get out of here ASAP...and we need YOUR help.

Thankfully, we are very lucky to have met a great realtor who helped us find a new location in the beautiful West Ward.

But, we have several financial obstacles that include:

  • Moving Expenses (rental cars, movers, storage room, and more)
  • Food/Cashier Bar (We need to build a bar in our new space to fit our retail and food section)
  • Architect Fee (In order to build out our bar, we need to get a professional to draw out our plans for the City of Easton.)
  • City of Easton Permit Costs (These get pricey. Permits cost anything between $24-$500)
  • Renovation Cost (We want to be able to provide the same energy that we added to our current space. We are lucky to have friends & family donating materials but we need to buy paint, wood, wallpaper, and more.)

  • Temporary financial stability! To simply cover the costs of being shut down for a month while we move & renovate the space; in addition to debts that will/have accrued.
  • Anything extra beyond our goal will be used to hire an employee and produce more events for our beautiful community.

Our new space is beautiful! Located next to the new Plants & Coffee cafe. We love our new space. It's smaller, but after all this, we must recover and that's by starting small. We will rebuild.

Our new space will be a little different. We will continue to do our usual events like trivia, drag bingo, loteria, and more. We definitely will have to scale back on the capacity but it shouldn't be an issue. We will continue to do community partnerships with Cellar 159 & Separatist. We are changing the menu and including to-go fast & healthy options for folks looking for a quick lunch. Options like rice/quinoa bowls, salads, and sandwiches.

This opportunity will help us rebuild our business and once again focus on our goal to share our space with the community we love and care about. This change will help our mental health and get us back on track and inspired. While we are closed, we do intend to go back to pop-ups so follow us on social media to track where we will be next.

Mik and I love our store. We love our business and we have so much fun playing & teaching games to all our gamers. We have spent the last couple of months with people so eager to have a different night out.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us in any way. Whether it's playing games here, donating games, or more. All the amount of support we have received has been so amazing.

Our entire goal, in operating this store, is to help others expand themselves through the same opportunity we were fortunate to be given; In a safe space, a diverse space, and third, just a fun hang out for your and your loved ones!

We appreciate your time in reading this and we thank you for helping us through this entire experience. The upcoming bills and relocation requirements are simply too much for us to produce funds for on the short notice of a month we have on this relocation. Anything helps! Thank you!
