We are neck deep in preproduction here at AWWWD headquarters. We have locations, talent, and crew booked. We currently have the funds to get started but are looking for some additional funds to bring on more technicians for the shoot as well as to help with the housing costs.

A Wonderful Way with Dragons, an independent film written, directed, and produced by Delfine Paolini, will begin production this summer in Upstate NY.

The film follows a group of six children and a sinister, possibly imaginary, friend — Gray, Dev, Laura, Bee, Kick, Nicki and Wednesday — abandoned on an enigmatic island after a pandemic has swept the world. Their struggle to survive becomes paled by individual desires for each other and for power.

Urs Hirschbiegel, Delfine Paolini, Adam Lukens, Russel Cramer, Gautam Kadian and Sarah Rosen will Produce the film, while the award-winning cinematographer, Abdelsalam Moussa, is slated to shoot the picture. Rene Bastian will serve as Executive Producer.

“I am humbled by the opportunity to visualize this story,” said Paolini. “As I wrote this script during the Covid-19 pandemic, I was reminded of what essentially holds a society together. I found myself turning to T. S. Eliot’s The Waste Land and realized that its meaning was relatable to our lives today.” Paolini seeks to express that civilization, with its values and conventions, can disappear, leaving only a ‘heap of broken images.’ “In my view, the collective sense of loss and isolation associated with the Covid-19 pandemic correlates with the emotional collapse of society as a result of World War I.”
A Wonderful Way with Dragons promises to be a visually striking film, thanks to the talent of Moussa behind the camera. “Delfine’s script is incredibly poetic. Reading it, I felt like I was watching a strange fairytale through a snowglobe,” said Moussa. “I'm confident that together, we can create a very special film,” said Moussa.
The production team scouted several locations in the Catskills for filming, and chose Sullivan County as the perfect setting to portray their story.

An extraordinary group of young actors have already been assembled by Sig De Miguel and Stephen Vincent of S2 Entertainment. The cast includes Ben Ahlers of the TV series The Gilded Age; Violet McGraw, star of the box office hit film M3gan; Miguel Angel Garcia, star of The Long Game; Taylor Geare of Academy Award-winning film Inception; Donnie Masihi of the popular TV series This Is Us; Ian Foreman, star of the TV series Let the Right One In; and Theodore Dalton, a talented fashion model turned actor, who was most recently seen in a nationwide Ralph Lauren ad campaign.

A Wonderful Way with Dragons is a thought-provoking film that explores the social, psychological, and emotional impacts of isolation on children. Producer Urs Hirschbeigel suggests that the timeliness and timelessness of the story will reach a variety of audiences. “While there are notes of Shakespearean tragedy, A Wonderful Way with Dragons also touches on the worldwide, solitary experience endured by children during the pandemic, and the ensuing mental health crisis.”
Ben Ahlers can most recently be seen in HBO’s The Gilded Age (Season 2 premieres this fall). He is represented by Gersh and Namoff & Co.

Violet McGraw is best known for appearing in television series such as The Haunting of Hill House and Jett, as well as films such as Doctor Sleep, Black Widow, and M3GAN.

Donnie Masihi's extensive television credits include major recurring guest star roles in the HBO limited series I Know This Much is True with Mark Ruffalo and Melissa Leo and the Fairly Oddparents on Paramount+ as well as a recurring role in This Is Us on NBC. Donnie has also appeared on NCIS: Hawaii and Seal Team. He has an identical twin brother, Rocco. He is represented by Paloma Model and Talent and Artistic Endeavors

Ian Foreman first gained recognition on the NBC series Ordinary Joe in 2021, which served as his breakout role. His passion for filmmaking led him to delve deeper into the themes behind the movie Let The Right One In. Ian is represented by Paradigm Talent agency, Anonymous Content, Del Shaw Moonves, and R.C. Bonds Public Relations
