JW's Journey

John William Carver was born on November 23rd, 2022 to Emily & Richard Caver. He was born with a rare heart condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. This is a birth defect that affects normal blood flow through the heart. JW was born at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital where he & his parents stayed for the first month of his life. He was able to go home for the first time right before Christmas.

On January 19th, JW was taken by ambulance to the Owensboro hospital where he was then transported by ambulance to Cincinnati Children’s due to very low oxygen levels. January 22nd JW had his first heart surgery to do a stent. They spent several days in the ICU at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, then spent another two weeks in the hospital and were able to return home on February 12th.

On May 16th, John William will have The Glenn Procedure at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. This is a very intensive surgery that will have a long recovery and stay in the hospital.

If you feel led and are able, please help take some of the financial burdens off of the Carver family. All money raised will go directly to JW’s medical bills, lodging, traveling and meals for Emily and Richard while they are away from home.
