Help Emily Williams with Medical Bills

On Sunday, April 30th, 2023, Emily Williams suffered a serious fall while schooling a horse at a horse show. She ended up going to a hospital in Tyler, TX where it was discovered that she has a broken nose, a fracture at the base of her skull/top of her neck and a complete tear of one of the core ligaments that supports her head. Despite all of her injuries, Emily is still in very good spirits. There are many things to be grateful for considering that this type of fall could have ended much worse. Thankfully there was no damage to her brain or spinal cord.
Emily has been a magnificent addition to the Brawley Farms family and is an important member of our team. She brings not only a lot of knowledge and experience to the barn but a fantastic and upbeat attitude as well. We cannot wait to have her back in the barn after she has fully recovered.
Many of you have inquired how you could be of help and right now the best help that you could provide is by helping financially with her medical bills. Though Emily does have health insurance, her out-of-pocket maximum is quite high. She also has to have two surgeries to fix her nose and insurance will not cover all of it. They also will be unable to operate on her nose until her neck is completely healed. Thanks to Betsy and Jay DeVenny, Emily was able to get in to see a fantastic neurosurgeon. The neurosurgeon told her that no surgery is needed to fix the neck fracture at this time, just rest and immobilization.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. We'll keep everyone updated on how Emily is doing and when she'll be coming back into the barn to teach a little bit. Though, a word of caution, she was able to snag some extra neck braces from the hospital for those of you that don't keep your chin up!
