Always Had A Big Heart - Now He Needs A New One

Hello everyone. We are starting this GoFundMe page on behalf of our dear friend Steve Hodges who needs your help. Steve is a loving father of 2 girls, Shelby and Shiloh, and husband to Lisa, and a friend to all. He's the owner of a busy restaurant and events company – Rajun Cajun in Redondo Beach – and a hardworking man who has never backed down from a challenge. He's been fighting serious heart disease since 2019 and now needs a heart transplant to survive.

After undergoing two rounds of stents, Steve's heart condition hasn't improved. He is a perfect candidate for a heart transplant and is now at UCLA Medical Center waiting for a donor heart. He'll need to take anywhere from 40-75 pills a DAY after transplant surgery, and one of those costs $500 for just one month's supply. After the heart transplant, he'll need a full year of recovery, including a biopsy on his new heart every week for the first three months, which is a seven-hour mini-surgery in itself.

The bills are piling up, both at home and at the restaurant and they are struggling to pay for the medical bills associated with Steve's condition. We're looking to help them get ahead of the bills and pay off the credit cards that are already maxed out. Anything to help us catch up on their bills would be a massive help not only for the family but also to keep the business open and continue providing great food and events for our community!

We are hoping to improve Steve's lifestyle once he's released from the hospital; mainly by reducing stress. Bills are stressful, and we want to take care of his new heart, and most importantly, his two daughters need their daddy.
