UPDATE: thank you so so much to everyone who has donated. I’m now on treatment number 10 at the clinic in the UK. Progress is slow but changes are happening so lm keeping positive
The past 18 months have been some of the hardest / strangest I’ve ever experienced.
My whole existence has been put on hold as I’ve been experiencing an iatrogenic condition called #tsw #topicalsteroidwithdrawal - it is completely different to eczema. There’s little research about it and therefore little help available. However the number of people with it seems to be growing.
The past months have seen me -
- Move back to my parents for 6 months as I was so poorly I was unable to care for myself
- Lose 2 stone
- Lose ALOT of hair
- Have 10 minutes of sleep a night for weeks
- Have major adrenal issues
- Swollen Lymph nodes
- Depression and anxiety
- Countless doctors appointments to no avail
- Infections and almost sepsis
- Deep bone itch that makes the skin feel like it’s on fire
- Sit in the bath for hours
- Strain on relationships and total isolation which has lead to suicidal thoughts and disassociation
I just keep cycling though huge flares making it impossible for me to be able to keep up with even the most basic daily needs.
Ultra cap therapy is available as treatment for TSW however I need to raise some funds in order to have sustained treatment either in the uk or Thailand.
I hate to ask for help but I’m truly at the end of being able to cope with this.
