- update 5/23/2023
He finally has a surgery date of this Friday, please continue the prayer chains and thank you for all that have donated this far!
- I am sad / hopefull/ and happy to say that I have to increase our goal now that we know for sure he is a candidate and is scheduled for the tracheostomy. The decision was made with the best outcome for his growth progress. Brian will spend more time out of work to accompany Angela as required by the hospital for them to learn how to care for his trach. They also will have to make some minor modifications to their home to accommodate him and all his accessories that will be required to keep him growing and healthy! All details are not known and we can update as they are known to us as far as prognosis for short term and long term goals.
I can not say it enough, we are thankful to everyone who has donated rides, food , support, funds, and made a prayer chain from her family in Washington State to all our family right here!
Love and blessings to all of you from all of us, especially Little Phillip who truly is a miracle!
Who:
Baby Phillip ( Brian and Angela Gilmore)
As some of you know, My brother Brian and his beautiful wife Angela was surprised with the news that their family would be growing… especially since Angela had been diagnosed, treated, and been in remission from thyroid cancer a few years ago. They met with doctors, did their research, and made the best decision for their family and beliefs. The pregnancy and Angela’s health was right on track for the most part, but then
some complications arose with the pregnancy and Phillip Reed was born too early before his lungs fully developed. He was admitted to the NICU on the day he was born and still remains. He is making his progress on his weight and growth and all those milestone markers that they look for… but his lungs are just not developing as fast as the rest of him. He will likely need a tracheostomy in the near future to be able to come home. He is being fed through a tube due to being intubated, but Angela does pump and take milk for him everyday to the hospital since this is the best thing to help his growth, boost his immune system, and he tolerates it so well!
The common saying is:It Takes a Villiage!
Need:
- $$, rides to hospital, snacks, love and support!
In present and uncertain times, families are stretched far and wide and can’t always contribute in ways they like…
For those that do not want to send gifts and would rather make a monetary donation- this GoFund has been set up for them to help out with medical expenses not covered, gas to go to the hospital daily, parking(yes they make them pay every day$12 all day valet if available) or 1.50/hr when not), and hot, nutrional food for Angela(pumping moms need all the nutrients that a hot meal provides and baby desperately needs.)She does pack herself food and doesn’t always buy but she is usually there 8-12 hrs a day caring, bonding, and learning all she can to support Phillips growth. Stop in and have dinner, I hear some people are getting to do baby snuggles finally!
Angela will gladly accept rides to be dropped off at front of hospital to save on parking for anyone going that way usually between 12-2 and Brian goes up later for days he can work or has to take care of other obligations.
As you know, healthcare is costly, and with the baby in the NICU for an undetermined amount of time, not to mention the work missed, it has made funds low or non existent for them after their regular monthly bills. I am sure they could use a little extra help and would it would greatly be appreciated.
I am organizing this as a token of my love for my family. They will be the only one with access to the funds.
She does have this baby registry and these are some things that would help Baby Phillip directly but please find it in your hearts ❤️, this is something that would help them all to be able to be there to protect him and relieve some of the stress they may be feeling. You would be surprised what $5 or $10 that wasn’t planned, would mean to someone!
Thank you for reading and I know it’s long, but worth the time! Love to all and Thanks for anything you can share!
