Clare’s fight
Donation protected
Pictured above is my fierce and wonderful best friend Clare, and her almost 2 year old Jack. She’s been my bestie since year 11 - we had all the same senior classes and became instant and forever friends even though we now live 2000 kms away.
2 weeks ago when we caught up in person, we discussed her difficult pregnancy and joked about her being a “geriatric mum” at the ripe old age of 39. She was talking like many of us do about “it’s definitely the last” but also excitedly about meeting her baby girl in 3 months time and the impending madness of having a newborn and a toddler.
It turns out however her symptoms weren’t what we joked about and instead is a rare, malignant cancer.
Now - my fun loving, fierce and loyal Clare and her Husband Joe are preparing for their little one to arrive this week, 10 weeks ahead of time, and begin the fight of Clare’s life against cancer… in a city away from her close friends and family.
This is the story you never want to read about a friend or loved one, and i can’t imagine what Clare, Joe and their families are going through. I do know they need to focus on getting better and loving their little ones - all the shit like running a household can be outsourced. I am sure that all of their leave will be used up quickly and bills will still need to be paid. I am aware that there are loads of people who will be feeling helpless and would like to help - so this is a way to do that.
Any donation is greatly appreciated.
With love xo
