Support Britt with her necessary jaw surgery
Donation protected
Britt was a dedicated and talented high school athlete. During a soccer game, she was kicked in her jaw requiring surgery and her mouth being wired shut. The bones healed but she’s had lasting effects on her health.
My name is Sarah and Britt has always been more like a sister than my cousin. She is a amazing wife to Adam and mother to Lane and Miles. She started her career in early childhood education and now provides speech therapy in the schools and hospitals.
During the last decade, she has suffered with frequent migraines. She has had numerous dentist created mouth guards which carried warranties and the dentists were baffled by the short time it takes her to grind through them. She takes preventative medicines and is minimally helped by others used once a migraine has begun. She gets medical massages on her jaw throughout the month, practices yoga in an attempt to regulate stress and has seen dentists who specialize in corrective work. She underwent a second round of braces in a futile attempt to adjust her offset jaw and relieve her chronic symptoms.
Dentists and doctors have dismissed her persistent issues and pain, denying the need for another surgery to re-break the jaw. Who would WANT to go through such a painful ordeal and be stuck with their jaw wired shut for a second time …intentionally?!?! Someone who is desperate for an improved quality of life, allowing her to be more physically and emotionally present in her family life!
God put a coworker in line with Britt to share her victory over an almost identical injury and life struggle. The lady underwent the same surgery that Britt has been denied and has had life changing results! Britt recently had a video consult with the specialist whom her coworker recommended. She felt tremendous relief purely from him validating her years of pain resulting from a poorly fixed jaw. He explained that general oral surgeons are not educated in the necessary intricacies needed for a successful recovery of these breaks. Britt is grateful that he feels she is a great candidate for the surgery and he has referred her to a Maryland surgeon who is the guru of these cases.
This surgery is the only option left but it isn’t covered by her insurance and will cost over $50,000… not including travel and loss of income during recovery.
If you have ever met Britt, I’m sure you have felt the compassion she has for others…especially children! She isn’t one to ask for help and will probably be upset with my pubic request for the much needed support for her and her family. If you are unable to contribute financially, please unite with us in prayer for her healing!
