I would like to express much appreciation for the Support, words of encouragement, and Donations offered to Rick during this time. Together we were able to provide safety, his medications, transportation, and housing as he continues his path to regain stability. Rick has made it out of the Tortilla Curtain, as he refers. I would especially like to Thank my Anonymous Associate in Baja, as well as, Mike in San Deigo. Your involvement gave way to faith and hope. This fundraiser has served its purpose this past month and will no longer be active.

I am sad to report that on Monday, April 24th Rick Booth experienced a Home Invasion from 5 people while staying in Baja. This resulted in an Assault and Robbery of all his belongings, even his vehicle, which has been recovered although damaged. It remains unusable. It is unsafe for him to return to his previous housing.

Rick escaped with his life, his two dogs MaryAnn & Ginger, as well as the clothes on his back. He was treated at the local clinic and released. He will recover from the Bruising and Rib fractures in time.

Reports and evidence have been submitted to the Ensenada Municipal Police, Baja State Police Officials, and the Court system. A local Baja friend and I were able to secure new medication for his pre-existing condition. He now has a phone and is holding up in an unknown location until We can secure safe passage for him back to the States.

Rick has suffered significant losses because of this experience. Housing, transportation, Medical bills, Lawyer and Court costs. Let alone his clothes, tools, all household goods, and let’s not forget the 60+ years of memorabilia.

He is going to fight and pursue justice. But first, At this juncture, He is destitute and on a Senior Retiree’s fixed income. I will be launching a GoFundMe to help him get through and recover from this horrible event.

Please, let’s all Rally and come together to support Rick and Help him overcome.
