Thomas Kong

On May 1, 2023, the artist of the people, Thomas Kong passed away. Thomas Kong operated his store, Kim’s Corner Food, as a convenience store for the local Rogers Park community in Chicago. He simultaneously used the store as a studio and project space, opening his doors to local community members, art workers, and artists alike. His work has been exhibited in galleries and institutions. He was also shown internationally.

Evoked by his commitment to life and art - life as art, the owner of Kim’s Corner Food has been a vital part of Chicago’s art scene
To support the family in funerary expenses and the long road to sustaining Kim’s Corner Food, we request your support to keep his vision alive. As we strategize how best to sustain his legacy in the coming weeks, this GoFundMe will allow his family and friends to cover any unforeseen expenses and financial needs along the way.
Thank you for your support.
