Brayden's kick butt cancer fight

Hello, my name is Jeri Keith, my husband is Brad Keith, and this is my son Brayden. He is 12 years old and an amazing young man. Brayden is in the civil air patrol and a military school in 7th grade. In January, we went to the doctor for a routine exam and found nodules on his thyroid. The doctors had them aspirated, and the left side returned atypical, so we had to have half his thyroid removed and sent out for pathology. The results were given to us a little over four weeks ago, and as a family, we're taking the time to let them sink in and get a path forward. Brayden Keith's pathology reported that he has DSPTC or DIFFUSE SCLEROSING PAPILLARY THYROID CANCER; this is still very new to us and a shocking diagnosis we were unprepared for. Brayden will have the rest of his thyroid removed the first week of June, and depending on the last asperation, he may need all the lymph nodes in his neck removed as well. This will result in a 3-week stay in Denver. We will start working with the Cancer specialists in June after he has had time to heal. We must travel back and forth from the springs as we have four other kids to tend to. We do not like asking for help, but this came as a huge surprise, and with travel and extra expenses, we could use a hand-up, not a handout.
