Help Wilsons Barbershop Thrive in Year 2 and Beyond!

First, thank you. Your belief in Wilson’s Barbershop over the past two years has made all the difference. As we approach our second anniversary on June 1st, we’re proud of what we’ve built together — and we're reaching out because we urgently need your help to keep it going.
Wilson’s Barbershop has become more than a grooming space. It’s a vital neighborhood hub. We’ve collaborated with local organizations, nurtured new barbers, hosted artists and entrepreneurs, and created a space where culture and community thrive. All of this was accomplished with heart, hustle, and almost no outside funding.
Since opening, Wilson’s Barbershop has partnered with local government initiatives, nonprofits, schools, universities, artists, and entrepreneurs to create experiences that uplift and connect.

In just two years, we’ve:
• Enhanced our booking system (over 17K appointments serviced!)
• Introduced branded merchandise
• Upgraded our retail offerings
• Established a barber education program now in its 3rd cohort
• 1st runner up in the Washington City Paper’s Best of DC Best Barbershop category
• Summer 2025, joining the McDonough School of Business Small Business Corps Program at Georgetown University

But now, we’re at a critical crossroads.
To stay open and fulfill upcoming financial obligations, we must raise roughly $10,000 immediately. These funds will help us cover:
• Property taxes and BID fees (required by our triple-net lease)
• Rent for the upcoming month
• Electricity and internet bills — our basic lifelines

Along with product, merchandise, inventory and all the other infinite expenses associated with owning and operating a small business. Many of you all out there are founders and entrepreneurs who know what its like to be in dire straits yet remain steadfast in uncertain times.
We need your help today to bridge this urgent gap.
We’ve been recognized by the mayor as a Robust Retail Grant awardee (awaiting disbursement), and many more exciting opportunities are ahead. But we need your immediate support to stay afloat and build toward that future.

Help us keep Wilson’s Barbershop a living part of Adams Morgan — a place where tradition, innovation, and community come together.
