Hey guys, I’m Stephanie, Brandons’s sister. I’m reaching out in hopes of trying to help Brandon with the financial burden he will endure while he is off work for 3-6 months recovering from open heart surgery.

In 2009 we learned that Brandon had a malfunctioning bicuspid heart valve, he had a tissue valve put in and has done pretty well, until here recently when he started experiencing shortness of breath, fatigue and feeling the blood regurgitation in his heart. We have known since 2009 that he would have to eventually have the tissue valve replaced as the tissue valves only have 10-15 year expectancy.

And unfortunately that time has come. On June 14th he will have the tissue valve removed and a mechanical valve put in to replace it.

Brandon does have health insurance but will still need to meet his deductible and pay his out of pocket max of $4000. He has started preparing the forms for FMLA/short term disability, but will only be receiving a percentage of his pay during this time.

While I completely understand that others have much higher medical expenses, I wanted to do something for my brother, and kept drawing blanks, so I thought if I could try and raise money to help alleviate even a portion of his medical expenses it would help decrease his stress during this trying and scary time.
