Let's help Stu!

Donation protected

Tomorrow is the day I start my treatment. I just want to thank everyone who has supported me. I was going try to make a video but it's too hard. I had been doing so well. But obviously a bit nervous to get this started. Thanks again to everyone who has donated to the gofundme account. It will really help. I wish I could do more for you. Keep up the supportive messages. Even though you were making me emotional today. I love you all, I will get through this. Keep up the positive messages. Thank you again everybody. You really do give me hope FUCK CANCER

Hello Everyone! First I (Lesley) would like to thank everyone who has donated and/or shared this page. We are very grateful. We are wanting to update you on everything going on. Stu has been diagnosed with a form of cancer that is called Glioblastoma. It is a very aggressive form of cancer that is not curable however it is treatable. Stu will be going for radiation 5 days a week for 6 weeks in Toronto. We are keeping the go fund-me open as this will be a very expensive journey ahead for us. The money that has been and will be donated is being used for transportation, rent, food as well any medical supplies Stu will need going forward. Thank you for all the kind words, positive vibes, and prayers. Even if you are unable to donate we just ask for you to share this page. Once again our family and team Stu thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

When something bad happens to you, people often say...
"Know who your people are"
And right now is one of those times!

On April 22nd 2023, Stu Downs was found unresponsive on the floor of his home, having a seizure.
Luckily , Stu's fiancé Lesley found him and called 911.
Stu was taken to Lakeridge Health Oshawa where numerous tests were done, including a CT scan.
Following the tests it was discovered that Stu had a mass on the right side of his brain.

He was then taken to Toronto Western Hospital to be seen by a neurologist. The neurologist informed Stu that he had a 5 cm tumor and that he was going to be having surgery to remove it!

Stu had his surgery on April 29th at 8:30am. I am happy to write that the doctor was able to remove the tumor, but Stu still has a long road of recovery ahead of him.

He is lucky to be surrounded by so many caring people. Many of his family members have had to fly in to be able to be with him. When they got the call they all dropped everything and booked their flights!
Dominican, Alberta & Nova Scotia are some of the places they have travelled from to be by his side.

We decided to open up this GoFundMe page to help him and his family as much as we can.
This money could help pay bills, feed themselves and their children (dogs) , air fare & really anything to help make Stu and Lesley's life a lot more stress free!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your donations. You have no idea how much this will help them out.
Like I said in the beginning, We are "his people" ❤️
